about Thierry Grimandi

"You know, when we turn on the air-cond and turn off the lights and then we watched Cantona ? I really miss that", she said two nights ago.

Michelle and I were flabbergasted.

What, to me, had been a throwaway occasion of fun and bonding and lasted all of 15-20 minutes is something that Catriona had remembered. It was just a slice of time that happened a few months ago and I had forgotten all about it - but she remembered. Shows what I know about this little girl who insists on joining in whenever her parents hug.

So that night there were no story books. Instead, there was a chess set which she used to build a field with a scarecrow, a donkey and two cows.

There was also a rather complicated block jigsaw puzzle which I helped to complete.

And then we watched Cantona.

Cantona as Thierry Grimandi

Something else that caught me by surprise :

I didn't know that she could use the word 'miss' like that.
And I didn't know that she could insert the word 'really' in front of 'miss'.

Cadbury throws a Lovely Carnival

As Catriona had been staying at the Nanny's for the prior 2 days, I thought that we would take her to Sunway Pyramid on Saturday for lunch and the book shop.

So it was just by chance that we stumbled upon this carnival that Cadbury was holding there. We ended up spending a good two hours at the carnival. Photos !

Catriona had a great time there and when we said that it was time to leave she still piped up with "Now we go to the book shop. I want to read books."

the Things we Do for Love

Saw this yesterday when leaving Sheraton Subang Jaya.

First time I've seen pigs as decoration on a wedding car. It's cute and I wonder why I'd never seen any before this.

Warm and Comfy

With it raining every day recently, I guess it was inevitable that the teddy bears would be comfortably tucked in.

It's lovely weather for sleeping in and with the absence of the usual resultant traffic jams, I'm really enjoying the rain. I guess the teddy bears are too.

Air

Lately, I've been listening to Sweetbox's 'Everything's gonna be alright' :

and Erna Hemming's 'Il Proprio Fine' :

I like both these songs and even though they are both very different, they're actually strongly connected.

If you're wondering how they're connected, then listen to this.

Brains and Brawn

In the category of 'Whatever will they think of next' is a sport called chess boxing.

The sport call for alternating 6 rounds of 4 minutes worth of chess with 5 rounds of 3 minutes worth of boxing.

The concept for this sport can be directly traced to a science fiction comic book entitled 'Froid Equateur' and the 1st Chessboxing World Championship was held in 2003.

I have not, and will not, consider playing this sport.

TGIF

After working for the past two Saturdays, I'm really looking forward to this Saturday off.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder.
